Leicester Sands is a voluntary organisation run by bereaved parents. 

As well as offering direct support through meetings, telephone and e-mail, we work closely with our local hospitals and health professionals to keep aware of changes in maternity services and improve care offered to bereaved parents.

For bereaved parents:

Leicester Sands supplies memory boxes and teddy bears to help parents create precious memories of their newborn.

We also supply support information to help parents with the practical and emotional issues following a stillbirth or neonatal loss.

For health professionals:

We have assisted with the costs of training health professionals in the new Guidelines on "Pregnancy Loss and the Death of a Baby", which aims to improve the care given to newly bereaved parents and their families.
